The Heavyweight Podcast Season 2 Episode 218

Send us a text

This week, we’re unpacking a different kind of “heavyweight”—the kind that comes from being talked about, tested, and misunderstood. From live show moments to real talk about peer pressure, gossip, and personal growth, this episode gets into how we protect our peace without losing ourselves.

We talk about staying centered, creating boundaries, and choosing silence when the noise gets loud. We also reflect on health wins, gym check-ins, and the kind of friendship that holds you down on your hardest days.

Thanks for tapping in with The Heavyweight Podcast.

And then Elizabeth was like, because I already real quick. Yeah. Yeah. So I think when they left across the parking lot, they said, Oh no, it's niggas over there. This ain't it's gonna be three or four against 20. It's not finna go how you think it's gonna go.

SPEAKER_01:

I've said it to Patrick privately. I've said it to McFire. I'll say it this shit publicly. Them niggas was trash.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh, I thought you were gonna go with the uh the the Kanye West approach still. That's why your wind's low. So you like that's why your wind's low.

SPEAKER_01:

Because I ain't know y'all business time my week, which I think it was cool.

SPEAKER_02:

You know what, nigga? We really don't. We just do it as a formality.

SPEAKER_01:

SPEAKER_01:

Did you say how your week? Yeah, it was awesome. It was awesome. Awesome sauce. Okay. Glad to be here. Share, share, share a story about a time where um a peer was gossiping about you. I have no peers.

SPEAKER_06:

A peer that was gossiping about me.

SPEAKER_01:

You can say they a time they gossiped about you, disliked you, or made fun of you.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh co-workers.

SPEAKER_01:

At your current fucking job?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. They gossip about been there a long time.

SPEAKER_02:

How many jobs you think he got?

SPEAKER_06:

They gossip about me and Mo a lot, and they tend to talk about what we might be doing in order to uh to not be there on Fridays. They gossip about it. Grown people? These are grown people. Yeah, grown men. Get on my goddamn business. They'll be like, oh, they're probably do they're probably making money on that podcast or something. They're never here on Fridays.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, really? That's what they're thinking?

SPEAKER_06:

Those guys don't work Fridays.

SPEAKER_05:

Fuck. Wish I had FMLA. That's just hate. That sounds like hate.

SPEAKER_01:

That's some that's some stupid ass shit. You're nosy as hell.

SPEAKER_05:

I was gonna, I'm not gonna. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

By the time, go ahead. Somebody disliked you, gossiped about you.

SPEAKER_05:

I'm sure.

SPEAKER_02:

No, I was he basically saying he don't give a fuck. I'm sure it happens. And just you know, that's that's their problem to deal with, you know.

SPEAKER_05:

That's how I feel. I'm like, you gotta live with that nigga. Like, I'm not thinking about you. That's that's real talk.

SPEAKER_06:

I I often say to Maw, I said, when I I look back and you say, Well, you're doing we're doing a podcast. Uh I'm a I'm a super dope lyrical rapper. Uh I'm um I'm phenomenal at the at the whole parenting thing.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh I'm pretty funny when I need to be. So I was like, if I was in your shoes, I'd hate me too. Handling it.

SPEAKER_05:

Taking care of life. Like an adult. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

And apparently I'm a piece of meat.

SPEAKER_05:

We got one of them like at work right now, but I don't know if he like, I don't know what the thing he was saying. Like, he's he just worried about everything else but work himself. And he works from home.

SPEAKER_01:

What the fuck?

SPEAKER_06:

So he's like worried about you guys at work or what? That's wild.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, he's like, uh just the other other week, because we had that shit going on with dude fucking, so we're working in pairs. He's like, are you guys supposed to be together? Like, nigga, you are at home. We are out at three in the morning. Like, don't worry about this.

SPEAKER_04:

Yes, yes, we are. So he got he got a meeting with HR.

SPEAKER_02:

I've had uh yeah, I've had more negative things said about me from family than uh people. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm sorry that that was your experience.

SPEAKER_06:

Shout out to the lady at Tarjay that made me feel like a million bucks and a piece of meat at the same time. Oh well, she dropped her wallet.

SPEAKER_05:

He was Wagyu. Okay, Wagyu. Hey, you dropped something.

SPEAKER_06:

So it's been a while since I've been checked out in public.

SPEAKER_01:

Um I think more people like me now than ever. Why? Because of me? Because I'm calmer. I'm nicer, I'm more open. What the fuck? You're honest. I'm honest as hell. You say you're a calmer? I am. Do you not remember how we started this episode? Calmer. I didn't say I was calm. I said calmer.

SPEAKER_06:

She wants to smoke with Jesus as King.

SPEAKER_01:

Ur. Ur. Calm. Er. Okay. But uh yeah, I uh in junior high school, they lied. They said I gave Fareed head behind the building, and that was a motherfucking lie. He done told the niggas it was a lie. And even at 40 years old, I still have people be like, remember when you gave Fareed head behind the building?

SPEAKER_03:

Just fast.

SPEAKER_01:

No, nigga. I was not fast. I was I was turtle slow, nigga. I was not fast. I was not fast as a kid. I was so scared of every damn thing when I was young. I was not, but that was a lie. That was a total lie. And it stuck with me. I was like, God damn, like, why are y'all why are we 40 years? You're thinking about that.

SPEAKER_06:

I just they wanted it. Another PSA. I've never understood that growing up was the the need for dudes to um to lie. To lie, or even just put, even if it was true, why put the business out there?

SPEAKER_05:

Like if I did it once, but it it was because I was late as fuck to the into being in the Navy. So I was going to work, and I told her, I was like, I'm gonna have to lie and say he was fucking because that's the only way they ain't gonna write me up or send me the mask. Because he was like, if you're fucking or such and such, I'm not even gonna work but you being late. So I was like, I was fucking.

SPEAKER_01:

He he he didn't lie though. He told the truth. He's like, No, I get that.

SPEAKER_06:

I'm just saying people need to gossip about it, or or even like if it is true, like as far as things where I've seen that dudes go out of their way to try to put people on blast. Like, if she was willing to do that to you or like give you something you ain't gonna get it again, yeah. Like, why'd you put her on blast? Like, I don't understand either side of it. Like, just if people did something and they didn't do something, it's none of your fucking business.

SPEAKER_05:

Like, it's it's well, it was uh you said middle school.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, we were in middle school, it's a young minded, but we're 48.

SPEAKER_05:

Now adults do that, so it's like adults do that shit. That's just crazy. Like, I'm not for the fact that they ask, like, remember that like Yeah, like why the fuck are you asking me that?

SPEAKER_01:

And then in my adult life, the only adult that don't like me is Hayden's mama. And I ain't different reasons. I need more research. That's it. Research the shit, nigga. The only adult that I know that don't like me is Hayden's mama, and at the end of the day, I understand and I don't understand at the same time. I'm okay with her not liking me. I don't like her neither. So I'm okay with her with her not liking me. She's cute. I ain't finna hold you. I don't, I don't, I do not call people ugly when they not ugly. She cute, she kind of homie. She she always got like her her fashion is off, but but her face is cute. She's cute. And she and she had lost a lot of weight, and so sure her body looks pretty good. She's a cute, she is too fucking cute to be hating the way she does.

SPEAKER_06:

She's cute. Well, you said that you one of your apps was the fashion over. Is that for like fashion?

SPEAKER_01:

It's clothes. Uh you can order clothes there.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Do you have you ever like sent her recommendations?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, what happens is she'll see me in something. She'll see me in something. No, no, no. Like, literally, especially when me and John first got together. She would see me in something, and then like a few weeks later, I would see her in it. And then if it's because her son was going back and telling her, Oh, she gets her clothes off Fashion Nova. And I figured it out because he came home and said, You're gonna be so happy my mom's shopping at Fashion Nova. Now we don't have to sit in Rainbow for a long time.

SPEAKER_02:

So she don't hate you, she envies you.

SPEAKER_01:

It's okay.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm not fucked with nobody shopping at Rainbow.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_02:

Like the sandals, the store, nigga.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, like the store.

SPEAKER_05:

Ain't that shit expensive? Nah, that's some hood shit.

SPEAKER_01:

It's hood shit. But she ain't a hood bitch, because if she was, she would, she would uh okay.

SPEAKER_05:

Uh that's the white people stuff, huh?

SPEAKER_01:

No, no, that's envy.

SPEAKER_02:

I respect the you shopping sloss some more than rainbow.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, no, she she she went survival over there. Um, but she she does good in rainbow. Go ahead, baby. Put it together, baby. She she but her face is cool and her body, she lost weight. She looked, she really worked on herself. She has peace.

SPEAKER_06:

You give her compliments and I'll win it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, you know what? I don't give a fuck about these goddamn people not liking me. I'm not gonna tear nobody down. If you look good, you look good.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow, but she said fuck me and call me a nigga every time. Well, that's love. That's love.

SPEAKER_06:

That's out of love.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I also say nice things about you all the time.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, so it doesn't help that you your your user response to stop trying to fuck. It doesn't really help your fun.

SPEAKER_01:

Just stop trying. Let's do a rapid fire. Somebody give me a uh nickname that you got from your haters. Oh boy, I love this one.

SPEAKER_02:

Ah I don't know. I don't talk to them. Stutter box.

SPEAKER_01:

What?

SPEAKER_02:

Because you can fight? It was just one of them.

SPEAKER_01:

Did you stutter? Is that at some point? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

You just don't be listening to shit, do you?

SPEAKER_01:

I show up. Okay, I answer my questions.

SPEAKER_06:

That was a childhood thing, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't remember everything.

SPEAKER_05:

I just I know I'm fucking with you don't remember the question you asked, so it's cool.

SPEAKER_06:

Damn, like I and yeah, it was a it was a I had a stutter growing up, and it was uh when I would publicly speak. So yeah, when I got older, I kind of like embraced it. Because it was like saying you're embracing your fuck ups.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I remember you saying that.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, I gotta do that too with my wife. I gotta be more graceful too. Yeah. Because she don't remember shit.

SPEAKER_01:

And especially right, you know, when you be in like the middle, and I don't know if anyone else has ever experienced this, but when you be like in the middle of depression, you forget a lot of shit. And I just be I I literally had a cut.

SPEAKER_05:

I ain't gonna say that on loud. I don't have any nicknames from haters though. Yeah, I don't know why. Kuku Kow was another one. I do. That was how cow like the rap oh yeah, sweater. I was like, you didn't rap like who kill, man. But the sweater project.

SPEAKER_01:

I had a friend who I ended up getting into like a terrible like argument with. Like we was about to really well, I was about to box her. She got in her car and drove off, and she started um as a way to make fun of me, she started calling me Lil Miss Peace and Positivity. And I'm like I embraced the shit out of that. I got a whole TikTok name, Peace and Positivity. But she but she thought she was like making fun of me because of how at that time I was she was calling you Miss PP. She tried to.

SPEAKER_05:

For uh at uni because my dad was trying to hustle some shirts off, and they didn't sell, so we just had a shit ton of them. So I just had the same shirt in different colors every time.

SPEAKER_06:

That was a handle on Instagram for a while, and I was trying to be super positive. A B positive.

SPEAKER_02:

I remember that.

SPEAKER_05:

And A B positive. Yeah, mine would it just said the shirt said B positive. So I just decided to be positive and say, fuck them niggas.

SPEAKER_01:

And I'm like, damn, I'll I guess that's good that I had a hype.

SPEAKER_02:

Like, I've I mind my own business, and you'd be like, Oh, yeah, they're doing this. Well, god damn. Like, I guess me living my life is a fucking Andy Truman out this motherfucker.

Yeah, that's true. I'll tell you exactly what the fuck it is. I did this dumb shit, I do this dumb shit. I'll tell you what it is, so it don't be no reason to start no rumor about me.

SPEAKER_05:

I never had no bad clapback, baby, because one thing about it, baby, since the day I was fucking born. I've been for my cry was even funny. I've been funny since the day I was fucking born. I don't have a bad clapback.

SPEAKER_06:

SPEAKER_01:

My all my clapbacks is good. Everything, everything I say to a nigga.

SPEAKER_06:

SPEAKER_01:

You said hi-fi.

SPEAKER_06:

SPEAKER_01:

I can't say none of that shit on on the internet.

SPEAKER_06:

I'll tell you mine is it was a rap bar. I said, I warned homeboy not to take no shots. Now I'm gonna take him way back where his hairline stopped.

SPEAKER_01:

I'll get your hairline from the back. I think I'll pull your hairline up. I wouldn't even beat him with you. I wouldn't even beeping with you.

unknown:

Damn.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know. I don't know. I'll be just saying shit.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I'm the same way. I you say something to me, they clap back me this like this goddamn quick. This this quick.

SPEAKER_06:

What? Um that that's all insane. Yeah. I I was nigga, I came from Battle Rap. So yeah, that that was I did that shit immediately. When I found out I got a diss track on me, I did that shit immediately.

SPEAKER_01:

There's a diss track?

SPEAKER_06:

That was then, yeah. That was 2008, 2009. And I that was my space area, and I remember I had a fucking disc ready to go the next next day. And I played that damn thing, I don't know how many times. I never listened to this disc track. I just heard somebody was like, you know, you said this about you. I said, okay, say less.

SPEAKER_05:

And then flang. I got nothing. This worst clap back is nothing at all. Silence.

SPEAKER_01:

Next question. Okay. Um, and then what are your healing habits when dealing with haters? Like, what's your what? What the fuck?

SPEAKER_06:

Pussy, huh?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, I thought I thought he was calling me a pussy.

SPEAKER_06:

I was like, damn, nigga, why you do I can I can see taking it out on pussy.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't need to heal from a phone.

SPEAKER_06:

Dick it down. Just it's not a bad one.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm saying quarter pound her. That's not a bad way to get out of the. I'm saying once you get a good, once you once you get that post, you know what?

SPEAKER_05:

You just what the what am I what was I mad about?

SPEAKER_01:

Nigga hating on me while I'm fucking like I don't need to to um to heal from haters because I don't give a fuck.

SPEAKER_06:

Like I've been hit like I can see taking out aggression, like what the fuck?

SPEAKER_05:

Da da da.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

Tune them out like they don't exist.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I'm not just out of for like respect for hating because it really hurts his heart whenever me and his mom argue, but I think my best comebacks be on her ass. I be I be lighting her ass the fuck out. Like, I can't, I'm not gonna do hate like that.

SPEAKER_05:

Well, you're gonna write them down to the city. I may have to scenarios.

SPEAKER_01:

I may have to, because I'll be lighting her ass up. I be, I be, I've literally said things to her, and Hayden has chuckled. And I'll be like, Hayden, that's not funny, that's your mom.

SPEAKER_06:

That's how you know the joke was funny.

SPEAKER_01:

It's not nice, baby. I be lighting her ass up because she thinks she's funny, she not, bitch. You just cute. Just stay there at the cute, because the funny ain't it, baby.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, that's well, there's a lot of niggas laughing at sorry jokes then.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, she um so whenever you have this, this, um, these different issues with peers and bullies or whatever. Do you uh I'm not gonna call them bullies because I am 40, 40 years, I'm 40 years old. Anybody fucking bullying me, but do you talk to family or do you work those things out? Nigga, life is bullying you because it's bullying me. Life is bullying me, yes, but these other fucking humans are not.

SPEAKER_06:

I usually talk to Maurice and his usual advice is man, fuck the damn. He's like, damn, like this is your go-to for everything.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, it is.

SPEAKER_02:

If it applies.

SPEAKER_01:

It is.

SPEAKER_02:

I forgot.

SPEAKER_01:

I was I'm sorry, I was do you usually talk to family or work it out? If I'm fighting with them? Like if you beef, well, hell if you beef with it. Well, you talk to your wife, I'm sure. That's family.

SPEAKER_02:

I'll talk to um my wife, my brother, McFly. My fan. That's what it is. Kevin.

SPEAKER_05:

I don't talk to nobody, and I'm working on that. It's not healthy from what I'm understanding, so I never know when you got sleep.

SPEAKER_02:

I'm like, why should call Kevin? I think I'll probably sleep. I ain't gonna call.

SPEAKER_05:

I'm doing better. Like I've I've uh that shit with the that motherfucker at the restaurant. Like I talked to Amanda, I usually just suck shit and be like, what pause? That sounds right. Oh my god. Well, yeah, I usually just you know what's wrong with y'all.

SPEAKER_06:

You know you love this shit.

SPEAKER_01:

I love y'all, but y'all be pausing, pausing, pausing, pausing, but I don't ever catch it until after you said, and then I'll be like, oh god.

SPEAKER_06:

They were talking about that on the Joe Budden podcast. Did you catch that? The whole what age do we stop saying pause?

SPEAKER_05:

Whenever fuck you feel like it. Yeah, but they said I was a 40. We're supposed to because sometimes you say some shit and you go like, oh nigga, you don't don't say that.

SPEAKER_01:

When did y'all start saying that? Because I never heard nobody say that until I came here. I never heard anybody say that.

SPEAKER_05:

It always just evolved.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's all the same thing. It was never paused when I was younger. It was usually like whoa.

SPEAKER_02:

I remember the no homo.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, the no homo. Then yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_02:

I just remembered the original. Then you get in trouble for saying homo now is what you got to say. You do.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Is that right? Yeah. Not under Trump's administration. For now. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

SPEAKER_01:

No, fuck them, because they lost money.

SPEAKER_05:

To not say nothing. They lost money to do it.

SPEAKER_01:

They lost money to put him back on. Yeah, that's gangster shit.

SPEAKER_05:

Like, because the other companies, the other people who did it, they didn't. He's not in like 30 states or 30 cities. They still didn't put him on. So the fact that the ABC motherfuckers said, all right, let's do it.

SPEAKER_01:

So other other cities he's not back on.

SPEAKER_02:

ABC was losing money.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, that's not a reason to put to me. I feel like there's nothing like ethical about that. You didn't put him back on because you felt like that morally what you had done was wrong. You put him back on because your pockets are bleeding.

SPEAKER_05:

They still could have not. They still didn't. There's a whole other bunch of companies.

SPEAKER_01:

All that proves to me is that their money means a lot to them and they don't give a fuck about their morals. Fuck the morals. Shout out to Jimmy Motherfucking Kimball.

SPEAKER_06:
